Yin is a slower, more gentle style of yoga that works on opening the body and mind. Poses are done on the ground in seated or reclined positions and focused on longer, deeper holds. Unlike other practices that focus on strengthening, heat building, and activation of the muscles, Yin’s objective is to deactivate and to allow ourselves to release deeper into the connective tissues throughout the body.
Poses are focused on passive release using props for support and are typically held for 3-5 minutes each. After a few minutes of holding these poses, the body begins to find more release while helping to open and strengthen the joints.
This is a great mental practice for those who have a hard time being still. It may seem slow and gentle, but yin still offers a challenge of seeking out physical, mental, and emotional edges.

Hatha Yoga is one of the most popular styles of yoga. Hatha classes guide practitioners through postures at a slower pace with more guidance on doing each post correctly. It is a type of yoga that emphasizes holding poses for long periods.
The benefits of Hatha yoga include better sleep, strengthening core muscles, improving flexibility, improved range of motion in joints, improving depression symptoms, and helping with stress management. It comprises three primary practices: body postures, breath techniques, and meditation. Hatha is great for many people, especially beginners, as they don’t need much prior knowledge or experience to hit the mat.

Vinyasa yoga focuses on moving with your breath through various poses in a flow-like sequence. Vinyasa is a faster-paced style of yoga that requires some experience for the most enjoyable outcome. We recommend that you take 5-10 Hatha classes before your first Vinyasa session to allow you to gain experience with the poses and terminology.
Vinyasa yoga is energizing. It builds strength while improving mobility and relieving stress. Vinyasa helps release anxiety by creating an environment that allows you to focus and tune into your breath (Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement"). Moving with your breath in a flow-like state helps your body release toxins and improve your mood and mental state. This breath-based flow also allows you to burn more calories and improve your fitness if that is your goal.
